After DANA Cup victory, Mailantarki FC lift Norway Cup

Mailantarki Care Football Academy of Nigeria emerged victorious in the 50th edition of the world’s biggest youth championship, the Norway Cup 2022.
The guys from Gombe beat hosts KFUM FK 2-0 at the main ground of Ekeberg Sports Complex in Oslo on Saturday August 6, 2022.
Recall that on Saturday July 30 they had emerged the champions of the international youth championship of the Dana Cup 2022 in Denmark.
Hosts KFUM were undone minutes before the break after Muhammed Mouro’s magnificent inviting cross from the right flank was brilliantly converted by Miko Dalha in the middle to send Norway‘s Mailantarki supporters into mad jubilation from the stands.

Abdulaziz Maiyadi, who netted a fine shot minutes before the end of the thrilling encounter, became the team’s top scorer with 12 goals, followed by Miko Dalha with eight goals.
The feat achieved by the boys of Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki is the first for a club to go all the way and win both senior categories in Denmark and Norway in the same year.
However, apart from the respective glories in the two cities of Hjørring and Oslo, the historic performance of the Mailantarki boys caught the eye of top football managers in both host countries.
Therefore, negotiations were concluded while others were in progress for the Gombe boys to be linked with a professional career.
The glorious contingent is expected to leave Oslo on Monday for Copenhagen en route to Istanbul before connecting to the plane bound for Abuja for the final destination.
