BI agents arrest notorious Norwegian pedophile

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has arrested a suspected Norwegian pedophile wanted by authorities in Oslo for sexually assaulting minors.

BI Commissioner Jaime Morente has identified the Norwegian as 53-year-old Alexander Calapini-Solberg, who was arrested on Monday February 7 at Barangay 48-A Cabunggaan, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte by police officers. Bureau’s Fugitive Search Unit (FSU). .

Morente said Solberg is a high profile fugitive wanted in Norway due to a series of sex offense cases that have been filed against him in court.

“We are going to deport him because he is an undesirable foreigner. His continued presence in the country poses a serious threat to our Filipino children, anyone of whom could be his next victim,” Morente said in a statement.

IB chief said he issued the mission order for Solberg’s arrest at the request of Norwegian authorities, who informed the office that he was already an undocumented foreigner because his passport had already been revoked by the government from Oslo.

According to BI-FSU chief Rendel Ryan Sy, an Interpol Red Notice was also issued to Solsberg in December 2021 based on arrest warrants issued against him by Folio Og Norde Ostfold District Court in Norway .

Solsberg’s warrant is based on at least four counts of sexually assaulting young children on multiple occasions.

Solsberg is currently being held at the BI Warden Facility at Camp Bagong Diwa in the city of Taguig, pending deportation proceedings. (RP)
