Hurtigruten welcomes lifting of Norwegian quarantine for North Americans
Effective today, the government removed restrictions that had been in place for almost two years. Now, North Americans can travel to Norway as long as they present a negative COVID-19 test taken 24 hours before departure for the country, complete a pre-registration form upon entry and a test upon arrival, either at the airport, i.e. within the first 24 hours. .
Previously, even vaccinated North Americans were not allowed to enter Norway without being quarantined for 10 days.
Norwegian Coastal Express and Expedition Vessels
Hurtigruten said it was eager to welcome North Americans on its Norwegian Coastal Express, where a six-day cruise from Kirkenes to Bergen costs from $1,752, and on its expedition ships.
The 15-day Northern Lights and Fjords Expedition from Dover, UK, which focuses on the Northern Lights, is available this winter and spring, as well as the 2022/23 winter season . Hurtigruten offers the ‘Promise of the Northern Lights’ on select trips.
Between April and September, the company runs 15-day summer expedition cruises from Hamburg, Germany.
Policy “Book with confidence”
North Americans who book the Hurtigruten Norwegian Coastal Express or Hurtigruten Expeditions by March 31 for departures by September 30 of this year are automatically covered by Hurtigruten’s “Book with Confidence” policy.
