Kelly Fisher and Teuta Kukleci have each been nominated for the Center for Gender Research award âBest Masters Thesis with a Gender Perspectiveâ for 2021.
Kelly Fisher is nominated for her dissertation titled Masculinities on the Move: The Migration Experiences of Polish Men in Oslo, while Teuta Kukleci is nominated for her thesis entitled The âlow roadâ: ethnic division and Bosnian newspaper coverage of high profile cases of sexual violence at the ICTY. Both wrote their theses as part of the UiO-PRIO student program.
The University of Oslo Gender Research Center wishes to highlight and recognize student research, inspire students to strive for quality and originality, and bring the gender perspective to the public. Thus, a prize has been awarded every year since 1992 to the best master’s thesis with a gender perspective, submitted to the University of Oslo.
âPRIO is very proud to be the workplace of two out of ten nominees for this award, and I think this reflects the long-standing and strong environment for gender research at PRIO,â said Torunn L. Tryggestad, Deputy Director of PRIO and Director of the PRIO Center for Gender, Peace and Security.
We congratulate Kelly and Teuta and wish them good luck!
The winner will be announced at the Center for Gender Research’s New Years party on January 13.
