More than 1,400 homes and spaces for cultural events will be included in a major regeneration program in Leeds

Aire Park, the new neighborhood in the heart of Leeds’ South Shore, is due to open to the public in 2023.

The first phase of the development will offer over 190,000 square feet of Class A office space, six ground floor retail units and nearly 12,000 square feet of outdoor event space capable of hosting sporting events , musical and cultural.

A spokesperson said: “When fully completed, Aire Park will be centered around the largest green space in the city center, populated with 500 trees and one of the largest outdoor children’s play areas in the city.

“Part of this green space is also expected to open in 2023. The mixed-use development will also include over 1,400 modern homes – completion dates for these are to be confirmed.”

Ahead of Aire Park opening public access next year, developer Vastint UK is sponsoring the South Bank of Light Night Leeds, one of the UK’s largest annual light and art festivals.

A spokesperson said: “Aire Park will host Affinity by Amigo & Amigo located outside the Tetley, a historic building on the south side of the city.

“Affinity is a large-scale light installation designed to resemble neurons in the brain. Visitors are invited to touch the color-changing globes and travel along light pathways, interacting with the other globes in a display evoking ideas of memory and emotion.”

The new neighborhood in the heart of Leeds’ South Shore, Aire Park, is due to start opening to the public in 2023.

Simon Schofield, Vastint UK Construction Lead North, said: “The people of Leeds have patiently and enthusiastically awaited the arrival of Aire Park, and we are equally delighted to start opening the first phase to the public next year. .

“Our hope is that the development will breathe new life into the area and build on the regeneration of Leeds’ South Shore.

“Aire Park will connect Leeds and its communities, providing significant and inclusive green space for Leeds residents and visitors, and creating a thriving neighborhood for new homes and businesses.

“Representing the South Shore for this magnificent cultural event that brings the whole city together is a true honor for Aire Park.”

Aire Park is a nine-minute walk from Leeds train station and close to the city’s shopping area and waterfront.

Founded in 2010, Vastint UK has programs in London at Sugar House Island, Leeds and Cardiff along the Embankment.

Vastint is active in a number of countries across Europe including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands , Norway, Poland, Romania, Spain and the United Kingdom.
