MYNT U-19 head coach Marko Mitrović calls up 19 players to Spain for friendly matches against. England and Norway

CHICAGO (May 27, 2022) – United States Men’s National Under-19 Team Head Coach Marko Mitrović has called up 20 players to Marbella, Spain, for two friendlies. against England and Norway. The team will meet from May 31 to June 10, against England on June 6 and Norway on June 9. Both matches will be played at 12 p.m. ET at the Dama de Noche pitches at the Marbella Football Center.

Players born on or after January 1, 2004 are eligible for the 2022-23 U-19 MYNT cycle. Six players called up to the camp were born in 2004 and 14 were born in 2005.

The 20 players called up to Spain are eligible for this summer’s 2022 Concacaf U-20 Championship in Honduras, which serves as a qualifier for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup and the 2024 Olympics. Players born in 2005 are also eligible based on age for the 2024-25 U-20 World Cup cycle.

Fourteen players return from U-19 MYNT’s april internshipwhile six receive their first U-19 call-ups: Juan Castilla, Kristian Fletcher, Kobi Henry, Thomas Williams, Owen Wolff and Marcos Zambrano.

One player is based abroad – Atletico Madrid striker Rodrigo Neri – while the 18 national players come from 14 different teams, including 11 in Major League Soccer. Three are from Houston Dynamo and Orlando City SC. Eleven states are represented on the roster, led by five players from Florida.
