Pakistan and Norway agree to further diversify cooperation – Pakistan

NEW YORK (Dunya News) – Pakistan and Norway have agreed to continue their joint efforts to strengthen and further diversify their cooperation, especially in trade, investment, development and other areas.
The agreement came during a meeting between Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Norwegian Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt in New York.
They stressed the importance of a speedy conclusion of the free trade agreement between Pakistan and the European Free Trade Association.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari hoped more Norwegian companies would benefit from Pakistan’s attractive investment policy.
He stressed the importance of improving legal migration opportunities for Pakistanis.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also underscored the need for a peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir conflict in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Foreign Minister Bilawal also met with US Special Representative for Afghanistan Thomas West and stressed that a peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan is a priority for Pakistan.
FM stressed the importance of continued international engagement with the interim Afghan government for lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan and beyond.
The US Special Representative appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for peace and stability in Afghanistan and to facilitate evacuations.
Both sides recognized the need for continued cooperation on the common goals of sustained efforts and commitment by the international community to alleviate the suffering of the Afghan people and promote regional peace and stability.
