Following the disbandment of Sleep on It, TJ Horansky had to regroup, and the ensuing COVID quarantine gave him time to do so. He taught himself how to mix, design and produce on his own, and now he has his own project. It’s called OSLO, and on his first LP great placesHoransky swapped pop-punk for shimmering, dreamy indie rock in the vein of Valleyheart or Seer Believer.
It’s a great record and a big leap forward for the Chicago-based musician. He notes that “great places was written and recorded at a time of great anxiety, doubt and confusion for myself and the world at large. It’s about facing the things we can’t control and clinging to the belief that there are better times ahead, especially when there aren’t.
To give great places a listen below, a day before its release date.
