Last weekend at least ten children and young people were robbed by other minors in Oslo. This weekend, the police will be more present where thefts can occur, also in civilian clothes.
We are further increasing patrols with civilian and regular police along the underground network and in places where our intelligence tells us there is a high potential for new conditions, said District Police Inspector Ron Swan. Oslo NRK Police Station.
The past weekend was marked by several burglaries by people under the age of 18 in Oslo. At least ten children and young people of valuables were stolen. Police do not have a total number of suspects after the break-ins.
– We have the names of several suspects and we are working to identify many perpetrators, said Police Inspector Renate Meyer Medby in the Oslo Police District.
Many of the identified perpetrators are between 15 and 17 years old.
Now the police advice is clear: if you get robbed, do what the thieves ask.
“If you are threatened with giving up your jacket, you should give up that jacket,” Police Inspector Swann said.
So far this year, 64 burglaries of people aged 10 to 17 have been reported in Oslo, Asker and Berom. In the past year, the number of such cases has reached 85. According to Swan, nearly 100 percent of cases have been resolved.
