KUWAIT: Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Center was nominated for the LCD Berlin Awards 2021 in the “New Cultural Destination of the Year” category (Middle East / Africa). Other nominees include the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and the Museum of the Future in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The awards, known as the “Museum Oscars”, aim to “highlight the most exceptional offerings from the world’s leading existing and emerging cultural destinations, celebrating the dynamism of cultural organizations and connecting the arts and tourism in the world, “according to a description posted on its official website. “For the awards, LCD and visitBerlin identify and recognize the most creative and innovative projects of cultural institutions and initiatives that shape culture around the world.”
