Skanska is building a new highway outside Oslo, Norway, for NOK 2.9 billion, or about SEK 3.1 billion

Skanska signed a contract with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration on the construction of a new highway outside Oslo, Norway. The contract is worth NOK 2.9 billionin regards to 3.1 billion Swedish crownswhich will be included in the Nordic order intake for the second quarter of 2022.

The project includes the construction of 2.0 kilometers of six-lane motorway between Ramstadsletta and Strand, including 1.3 kilometers of the new Høviktunnel outside Oslo as well as changes to the surrounding local road system, including the construction of a new bridge and retaining walls.

In order to ensure sufficient protection from external environmental aspects throughout the project, Skanska will certify the works according to CEEQUAL, which is an internationally recognized certification standard for infrastructure.

The contract is part of the large E18 Western Corridor project, which consists of a new main road network between Lysaker in Bærum and Drengsrud in the municipality of Asker. Construction will begin June 2022 and is expected to be completed in 2028.
