World political calendar: BFA 2022, French presidential election

In the coming week, the annual conference of the Boao Forum for Asia 2022 will begin on April 20 and France will decide whether its outgoing president deserves a new five-year term or whether to give a mandate to the candidate of extreme right Marine Le Pen.

Themed “The World in COVID-19 and Beyond: Working Together for Global Development and a Shared Future”, the Boao Forum for Asia 2022 annual conference will be held online from April 20-22 in Boao , a coastal city in Hainan province, in the far south of China, according to official announcements.

This year’s forum will focus on post-pandemic development, green development, innovative development, inclusive development and collaborative development.

Founded in 2001, the forum is an international non-governmental, non-profit organization committed to promoting regional economic integration and bringing Asian countries closer to their development goals.

Macron v Le Pen in the second round – the rematch

As in 2017, the second round of the 2022 French presidential election will see Emmanuel Macron face Marine Le Pen on April 24, 2022. In the first round of voting, incumbent President Macron obtained 27.8% of the vote, while Le Pen obtained 23.2%. percent.

Five years ago, centrist Macron beat far-right Le Pen by a landslide in the second round after securing 24.01% to Le Pen’s 21.3% in the first round.

Day by day:

Monday: New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern visits Singapore;

Tuesday: Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pahinyan pays official visit to Russia;

Wednesday: The Boao Forum for Asia 2022 Annual Conference will be held in Boao, South China’s Hainan Province, from April 20 to 22. Finnish President Sauli Niinisto on a three-day official visit to Norway;

Thusday: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is on a two-day visit to India. Britain’s Queen Elizabeth celebrates her 96th birthday;

Friday Saturday: Quiet days in politics;

Sunday: Second round of the French presidential election.
